US Outreach

1KTN2007

Some of you know, some don’t - there is a KT Discipleship Training School running in Belgium. In December, it progressed to the point of starting its outreaches. Nine students are doing a theatre module in the Netherlands and three took off on the 9th of December for Augusta, Georgia, USA. We joined the Alleluia Community, through Mike and Stormie Niehaus, and were welcomed with open arms.

Alleluia is a great charismatic community of about 500 people living in an area called Faith Village (part of Augusta city). We had an amazing time – people there are so friendly and generous that you could not do anything else but love them back. Almost every evening we were invited to have dinner with a different family – it was such a nice way to get to know them better.

We also did some ministry there ;) We made a program in and for their school, worked in “Golden Life” centre for elderly people, joined prayers in front of an abortion clinic , interceded, and just helped out in the community.

We also spent our Christmas there. Because we were so far away from home, everyone made a special dish that they are used to having on Christmas Eve.

On December 28th we left for Louisiana to meet with Frances Moody and do some ministry there. We visited high schools, led religion classes and a retreat for juniors. In New Orleans, we helped Habitat for Humanity build houses. One day we spent in the old town of New Orleans, known as the French Quarter. There, mainly in Bourbon Street, crammed with strip bars, witchcraft shops, night clubs etc., we interceded for over three hours. It was a real time of spiritual warfare. But we also had some very nice relaxed time listening to live jazz and enjoying the good food of Louisiana.

After three weeks in Louisiana, we spent a truly amazing weekend with Life Teen in the mountains of Georgia. Then we came back to the Alleluia community for two more weeks. We taught religion classes in several more schools, trying our best to make them interesting and touching - as you can notice in the pictures. You should have seen the faces of our students when they entered the classroom and saw us dressed like that!

I am truly glad that we also had an opportunity to do mercy ministry: we prepared food baskets and visited poor families, talked to them and prayed for them. It touched us all to see how God has his perfect timing and how he worked through us to bring some people back to him. That day was one of the highlights of our outreach for the whole team.

Another great experience was a prayer and worship night with the community youth. Oh man, the Holy Spirit was pouring showers of love over us! And can you believe that Alleluia even organized a goodbye party for us? It was so much fun and we also had an opportunity to pray for each other which was a great encouragement.

Our USA outreach was an amazing blessed time. We were able to see God's faithfulness throughout it - even in difficult moments such as being sick, getting robbed, losing the car keys in the trunk… so it was really faith-building for us all!!
“Our God is an awesome God!”

Blessings and thank you so much for your prayer support,
Kristute (Lithuania) (who wrote this article), Edith, Theresia, Petra (all from Germany) and Leen (from Belgium)
